As a family-run business, Canterbury Tools Ltd has been involved in the design and manufacture of press tools since it was established almost 50 years ago. To optimise the production of specialist press tools, the subcontract manufacturer utilises wire machine tools and cutting tools supplied by Birmingham-based Guhring. Switching to Guhring tooling has given Canterbury much higher material removal rate resulting in jobs on machines for less time, giving them longer tool life which has reduced the downtime incurred by tool changeovers and as a result tooling costs have been dramatically reduced.
